Larry L. Heldt, age 75 of Schererville, Indiana, formerly of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully December 12, 2018. Beloved husband of Barbara Heldt nee Swingler. Loving father of Michael Heldt, Christopher (Donna) Heldt, and Jennifer (Jon Nelson) Zarlinga. Cherished grandfather of Jason, Sarah, Caitlin, Nicholas, Mackenzie and Madelyn. Great grandfather of Sophia, Andrew and Charlie. Dear brother of Dean (late Sheryl) Heldt. Dear brother-in-law of Rosemary Heldt and Debbie Barnard. Larry was preceded in death by his infant son Jeffrey, eleven siblings, and his parents; Clarence and Mathilda Heldt. Larry retired from Ford Motor Company as a Supervisor after 35 years of service, member of the Steger Fire Department for 35 years and also worked for the Village of Steger for 15 years.

Visitation, Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, IL. Funeral Monday 10:00 a.m. at Steger Memorial Chapel.
