Larry Gene Nardoni

Larry G. Nardoni, age 66, of Steger, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family May 18, 2024. Beloved husband of Nancy Nardoni (maiden Teske). Loving father of Alexandria Nardoni, Christianna Nardoni, and Valerie (Matt) Martello. Cherished grandfather of Guilianna Martello. Dear brother of the late Vicki (Jesus) Jimenez.

Larry was the President and Owner of Midwest Glass and Mirror Inc. and taught Fire Science at Prairie State College. He has a long honorable service history with the Steger Fire Department (20 years) as firefighter/EMT, Captain, and Lieutenant; South Chicago Heights Fire Department (21 years) as Firefighter/EMT, Lieutenant, Assistant Chief and Chief.

Larry proudly served in many capacities; Steger Kiwanis, Village of Steger Zoning Board & Police Pension Board, Chairman of Trustees and Congregation at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and President, Vice President of School Board District 194 and Girls Softball Coach in Steger. He was a member of many Associations including; Illinois Fire Chiefs, Illinois Fire Inspectors, MABAS 24 and 27, Illinois School Board and the Illinois 9 Red Knights Motorcycle Association.  Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 3-8:00 p.m.  at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, IL 60475. Visitation Friday, May 24, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Steger, IL. Interment to follow at Skyline Memorial Park - Monee, IL.
