Laura A. Hoekstra

Laura A. Hoekstra, age 80, of Grant Park, IL, passed away February 23, 2017 at River North Bradley Health & Rehab Center. She was born May 13, 1936 in DeMotte, IN, the daughter of Benjamin and Alice Klemp. Laura married Jacob H. Hoekstra on October 6, 1955. Survivors include her husband Jacob, her daughter Marlene (Larry) Smith, and two sons, Robert (Carol) and Glenn (Jan) Hoekstra; her grandchildren: Jennifer Smith, Jeff (Heidi) Smith, Adam (Diane) Hoekstra and Calvin (Kaleigh) Hoekstra; her great-grandchild Benjamin Hoekstra, and two sisters Margaret (Mike) Zickmund and Elly (Dennis) Morros. She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Alice Klemp. Mrs. Hoekstra was a member of the Momence Orthodox Presbyterian Church. She cleaned homes, offices and her home church for 30 years. She enjoyed mowing her lawn, taking care of her many flowers and being actively involved in the life of her church, family and many friends. Visitation will be held at the Momence Orthodox Presbyterian Church (4132 Route 1, Momence, IL) on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the church. Interment will be at Momence Cemetery. Memorials to the charity of the donor's choice appreciated.
