Laura L. Powers, nee Spangler, age 63, of Beecher formerly of Dolton, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Beloved wife of the late William J. Powers. Devoted mother of James Powers, Tara (Ronald Starr) Powers, and Tracey (Rafael) Serna. Proud grandmother of Ashley, Shelby, Rachel, Jacob, Angeleena, Noah, and Byanca; Great-grandmother of Nevaeh. Dearest sister of Barbara (David) DeBoer and William (Claudia) Spangler. Kind aunt of many nephews and a niece. Preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Mildred Spangler. Memorial visitation Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at - 1:00 p.m. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL 60473 with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating.
