Laverne Churchill

LaVerne Churchill, age 94, of South Holland, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018.  Beloved husband of the late Marian Churchill, nee Gouwens.  Loving father  of the late David Churchill.  Devoted grandfather of Jason (Basia) Churchill and Adam (Stephanie) Churchill and great-grandfather of James, Jace, Mia, Kami, Arabella, Kylie, and Emberleigh. Dear Brother of Marian (Joseph) Dourigan, Pat (Jim) Barkus, the late infant Edward Churchill, and brother-in-law of the late Harry Gustafson.  Kind uncle of many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Margaret (nee Bailey) Churchill.   Visitation, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt. 6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Funeral Service, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at First Reformed Church, 15924 South Park Ave., South Holland, IL with services conducted by Rev. Dr. Matt Waterstone. Mr. Churchill was a W.W. II Army Veteran.  Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to First Reformed Church of South Holland.
