LaVerne "Susie" V. Grimes age 95 of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2014 in Chicago Heights, IL. LaVerne is survived by her loving children: Charlotte (Jim) Hahn, Dietrice (John) Malec, Linda (Late David) Cusick, Charles (Donna) Grimes and James (Carol) Grimes. She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great-GrandChildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren. A step Sister Ferne Cann and a half-sister Bernice Borecki also survive her.. LaVerne was preceded in death by her Husband Charles F. Grimes in 1998 and by a Great-Grandchild. Visitation for LaVerne will be held at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the Chapel. Interment will be at Momence Cemetery - Momence, IL.
