Lawrence E. Bult Sr., age 99, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013. Beloved husband of 54 years of the late Winifred, nee Bruining and 10 years of the late Lois, nee Vedral, Bult. Devoted father of Lawrence Bult Jr., Jane (Wayne) Ward, and Ruth (John) Loftus. Proud grandfather of Robert (Debra) Bult, Rebecca (Kirk) Holdcraft, Loren (Jodi) Bult, Amy (Dean) Varner, Lawrence Ward, Catherine (Nathan) Frier, John (Jennifer) Loftus, and Patrick Loftus; great-grandfather of Kyle & Andrew Holdcraft, Sara & Drake Bult, Josephine & William Varner, Sierra, Cody & Hunter Frier, John, Jessica & Julia Loftus. Preceded in death by his parents Frank & Jessie Bult and 14 brothers and sisters. Visitation Friday, September 27, 2013 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL with Rev. John Boryk officiating. Mr. Bult was the owner of L. Bult Service & L. Bult Cartage for 61 years in Thornton, IL, Charter member of Thornton Lion''s Club, Trustee of Thornton Village Board, and Member of Village of Thornton Volunteer Fire Dept.
