Lawrence Stratford Hansen

Hansen, Lawrence (Larry) 12/22/1936 - 5/18/2016 Larry Hansen of Grand Blanc, MI, unexpectedly passed away early morning on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Larry was born in Harvey, Illinois and spent most of his childhood in Crete and Steger. He worked as an industrial Engineer for Borg Warner in Frankfort for 27 years before moving to Colorado and then to Michigan. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed traveling, creating, music, online racing, and spending time with family. His mother Maybelle Hansen, father William Hansen, and son Russell Hansen precede Larry in death. Surviving are his spouse of 59 years Lois (Caswell) Hansen, daughter Diane Tallman and husband Rey, daughter Darlene O''Brien and husband Jim, and seven grand children: Alexander Tallman, Carrie O''Brien, Andrew Tallman, Emily O''Brien, Jackie O''Brien, Mary O''Brien, and Erik Chojnowski. Visitation Monday, May 23, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service 12:00 noon at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois. Interment at St. Paul''s Lutheran Cemetery - Flossmoor, Illinois, next to his son, father and mother.
