Lawrence Elvin Rakoczy

Lawrence Elvin Rakoczy of Peotone, IL, formerly of Crete, IL passed away May 4, 2022.  Beloved husband of the late Ellen June Rakoczy (nee Stephenson).  Loving father of Ronnie (Sue) Rakoczy and Bonnie (Ed) Martin, step-father of Stephen (Mildred) Bennett and Jeffrey Bennett.  Cherished grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Dear brother of Michael, Melvin (Renee), Evelyn (Jack) Long, Frank (I-Bet), and the late Helen Gamble.  Preceded in death by sister-in-law Gayla Hughes-Rakoczy; and parents Frank and Earlene Draper-Rakoczy.  Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Lawrence was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He retired after 44 years of service at the Ford Stamping Plant.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation Friday, May 13, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at Smits - Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL).  Entombment at Skyline Memorial Park - Monee, IL.  Memorials to Eastridge Church of Nazarene (2679 E Court St Kankakee, IL) are greatly appreciated.
