Leonard A. "Lenny" Rockley, age 82, of South Holland, IL, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born July 31, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War after graduating from Mount Carmel High School. He then went on to become a tool & die sinker. Mr. Rockley is survived by his four children: David (Denise) Rockley of Wheatfield, IN, Lynn (Rich) Macander of Wheatfield, IN, Joan (Frank) Elton of Schererville, IN, and Ann Rockley of Hobart, IN. Proud grandpa of Joey, Allison, Maggie, and Danny. He leaves loving memories to be cherished by Leanne Rockley, Sharon (Robert) Sipla, and Daniella Myer. Preceded in death by his parents Alex and Mary Rockley and his "brother" David Rusin. Visitation Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL with Rev. Geraldine Colvin officiating. Interment Private. Leonard enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes. The legacy of his passion for sports, auto racing and cars will live on through his children and grandchildren. His gentle and caring ways will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Ingalls Inpatient Hospice (One Ingalls Dr. Harvey, IL 60426) appreciated.
