Leslie “Les” E. Tucker, age 80 of Crete, IL. passed away peacefully, February 21, 2018. Beloved husband of 60 years to Carol Tucker (nee Peterson). Loving father of Jeannie (Tim) Borchardt, David (Ellen) Tucker and Timothy (Caril) Tucker. Cherished grandfather of Melinda, Miranda, Hannah, Timothy, Benjamin, Mollie, Mary, Paul and Erin. Great grandfather of Blayke. Dear brother of Carol McLaughlin, Jerry (Merilou) Jackson, Edward Jackson and Edith (Jerry) Grenard. Leslie was preceded in death by his mother Florence Jackson and his step-father Frank Jackson.

Les Tucker was born on May 27, 1937, in Lafayette, Indiana. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955 and enlisted in the Army Reserves. After serving in the Reserves, he then decided to attend North Park College. It was at college where he met the love of his life, Carol Peterson. They were married on November 16, 1957. Les became the manager of a local grocery store. During that time, Les and Carol were blessed with three children. He then took on a new career opportunity with the US Postal Service as a carrier for 14 years. Not only was Les dedicated to his work, but he also was highly devoted to his family and special pastimes. Les enjoyed hunting for arrowheads with his family and friends. He knew exactly which fields were ideal for discovering these unique artifacts. He liked to display his artifacts throughout his home and share his wisdom with others. Another passion of his was traveling to see the beauty of God's creation. He took many road trips throughout the United States with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He also had the opportunity to travel to other countries. These cherished moments have been captured forever through pictures and lasting memories. One other pastime that filled Les with so much joy was gardening. He would spend hours outside in the garden with his wife, Carol, planting and caring for all their flowers. He always looked forward to spring when their flowers would start to bloom and the birds would be chirping. He shared his love and knowledge of flowers with his family and friends. Even though Les had his favorite pastimes, God was first and foremost in his life. It was very important to Les and Carol to raise their children up in the Lord. Jesus blessed Les abundantly throughout his life. Les Tucker is now rejoicing with the Lord in heaven.
