Liew Alee Bretz

Liew Alee Bretz, nee Jaingarm, age 78, of Homewood, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2024. Loving wife of Joseph Bretz. Devoted mother of Joy Serletic, Lee Jackson; Loving step-mother of Jennifer Peterson, and Catherine (Ladia) Jerabek. Cherished grandmother of Kaia Deja Jackson, Anna Maria Jerabek and Isabel Rose Jerabek. Preceded in death by her parents Kum and Pung Jaingarm. Alee was born in T. Banpong, Thailand and was one of 10 children. She came to the United States in 1972 and became a US Citizen in 1978. Alee was vibrant and loved to laugh, dance and decorate for the holidays. She was an animal lover, a terrific storyteller, and was known for her cooking and gardening. She won multiple beautification awards for her flower gardens. Alee had a very kindhearted, loving and generous spirit that touched the lives of everyone she met.
Visitation Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN.
