Linda S. Schoon

Linda S. Schoon, nee Van Til, age 70, of Highland, IN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Beloved wife of Kenneth Schoon. Loving mother of  David (Lisa) Schoon, Nicole (Jason) Smit, and Mark (Amanda) Schoon.  Loving and caring grandmother of Lainey, Bryson, Oliver, Simon, Ari, Leo, Saya, and Andre. Dear sister of Ruth (Donald) Santefort, caring daughter-in-law of Jennie Schoon. Preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Ruth Van Til.

Linda was the President of Midwest Refrigeration Corp. for 22 years and had been a longtime employee with Van Til’s Fruit Market. Her faith was an integral part of her life, as she served in various ministries at Bethel CRC, Crossroads Community Church, Lansing Christian School, and Illiana Christian High School. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Visitation Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (RT.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN.  A Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home with Rev. Drew Brown officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Highland Christian School (https://highlandchristian.org/) or World Renew (https://worldrenew.net/).
