Lois J. Amptmeyer, nee Dykstra, age 85, of South Holland, IL passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Beloved wife of the late John J. Amptmeyer; Loving mother of Bonnie (Timothy) Poortenga; Devoted grandmother of Tim Poortenga Jr., Kristin Poortenga, and Kelly (fiancé Brad Eastman) Poortenga; Dear sister of the late Anna Vander Weide and the late Wilma Lobbes. Visitation Friday, June 7, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311 with services conducted by Rev. Ben Tol. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. Mrs. Amptmeyer was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of South Holland and the former Bethany Christian Reformed Church in South Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Stroke Association or the Epilepsy Foundation.
