Lois May Conover, nee Flaugh, 84 years old, was reunited with the love of her life, William John Conover on May 1, 2021. Her beloved husband William Conover died January 29th of this year. They spent more than 65 years together. She was born in Union City, PA on April 21, 1937 and lived in Wattsburg, PA, Tonawanda, NY, and Steger, IL.
Lois lived a long and peaceful life and died after a short battle with cancer at the Ingalls Hospice care center in Harvey, Illinois. She is survived by her children Jeffery (Debbie) Conover, Jodie Conover, Late Jan (Larry) Bitter, Jane (Timmy) Lindley, and Jean (Dennis) Sutton. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Kathleen (Fred) Hopson, Linda (Fred) Tiller, Jean (Wayne) Smith, and Sherman (Missy) Flaugh.
Lois served as a volunteer at St James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Illinois and was very active in many churches throughout her life. She was socially active and deeply involved in the United Methodist Church and served the Crete, Illinois United Methodist Church for the past 50 years. She was loved and well respected by all who knew her. Her favorite past times were playing card games, planning yearly vacations, cooking and making special pancakes loved by all who got to enjoy them.
A Celebration of Life for Lois and Bill is planned at the Crete United Methodist Church on June 1, 2021, that celebrates what would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. Lois and Bill were both cremated and will be buried in Union City, PA on June 14, 2021. Memorials can be made to the Crete United Methodist Church.
