Lori Joy Barker

Lori Joy Barker, long time resident of Dyer, IN, died unexpectedly on April 4, 2018 at the age of 57.

Beloved wife of John Barker for 38 years.  Devoted daughter of mother Dorothy (Tenbrock) Gregory and mother-in-law Gladys Barker.  Dear sister of Linda Ward, Donna Captain, and Dorothy Bouquet. Loving mother of Matt (Jill) Barker, Scott (Stacey) Barker and Sarah Barker.  Proud grandmother of Megan Honts, Annabella Barker, Kalliope Barker, Franklin Von Zur Muehlen, and Trevor Barker. Adored aunt of many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her father Charles Tenbrock and father-in-law James Barker.

Lori was a devoted wife, mother, and a lover of animals. One of her greatest joys was her family, including her dogs and cats. She has loved being a grandma more and more as her family continued to grow. She did everything she could to make every holiday, birthday, or gathering as special and memorable as possible, never missing a special event.  Lori was a complete ‘gift of hope’ donor giving away any part of her that can be used to better the lives of others being as generous in death as she was in life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

There will be no visitation and services were a small private family affair in keeping with her wishes. In place of flowers, please make donations to the humane society in her name.
