Lorraine M. Craig

Lorraine Craig, 84, of Olympia Fields, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 2, 2026.

She was born on July 25, 1941, to George Balta and Francis Balta. Lorraine found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing cards with her grandchildren, enjoying bingo, attending family gatherings, and cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was proceeded in death by her late husband, Marvin Craig; a loving mother to her late son, Steven Craig; and a proud grandmother to her late grandson, Hunter Craig.

She leaves behind a family who will forever hold her in their hearts. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Veronica Schulth , and her beloved grandchildren: Tyler Post; Zachary Craig and his significant other, Kayla Forman; Emily Craig; Logan Craig and his significant other, Lyndsay Wright; Noah Hopman; Carrington Hopman; Ardyn Hopman; Edyn Hopman; and Torrian Hopman. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Willow Denninger and Lincoln Craig, who brought her immense joy.

Lorraine will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the happiness she brought to those around her.

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.”

Memorial Mass to be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Liborious Catholic Parish, 71 W 35th Street, Steger, IL 60475. Arrangements entrusted to Smits - Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, Illinois 60475.
