Lorraine K Gibes

Lorraine K. Gibes nee Kwasek, age 82, of Crete, IL, formerly of South Chicago Heights, passed away March 19, 2010. Beloved wife of the Late Raymond Gibes. Loving mother of Pamela (Timothy) Heim, Alan (Diane) Gibes, Peggy (James) Diederich and Paula (Josh) Smith. Cherished grandmother of Heather Heim, Holly (Adam) Kelsven, Katie Gibes, Lee Gibes, and Ben Gibes. Dearest sister of Barbara (Herb) Lustig, Jerry (Late Madge) Kwasek, and Joseph (Josephine) Kwasek. Preceded in death by parents Frances and Joseph Kwasek and siblings Johnny, Bunny, Marie, Barney, Genevieve and Joan. Lorraine loved to travel, was a master at Rummikub, enjoyed bowling, playing pinochle and poker and pulling the handle on slot machines. She loved to cook Polish fare, and was an accomplished seamstress and previously owned an alterations business. Above all, Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and hosting parties at her home. Visitation Monday March 22nd from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Road, Steger, IL 60475). Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Liborius Catholic Church (71 W. 35th Street, Steger, IL). Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Steger, IL. Lorraine was a member of the Nifty Over Fifty Seniors Club in South Chicago Heights, Polish Falcons Nest 42, Chicago Heights, and the Altar and Rosary Society of the former St. Anne's Church, Chicago Heights.
