Lucy A Yacono

Lucy A. Yacono (nee Giunta) 95, went to the Lord on May 4, 2014. Lucy was a resident of River North Nursing Home in Bradley, Illinois. Born in Chicago Heights on February 26, 1919 to Luke and Catherine (nee Foushi) Giunta, Lucy was the eldest of her three sisters: Lena Shambo (the late Albert) of Steger. The late Ann Branka (the late Leon), Colleen Brewer (the late William) of Morganton, North Carolina. Lucy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Steve in 1973. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Kay Cannek (the late Charles) and Catherine Yacono, two grand children: Christopher Cannek of Lansing, Illinois and Christine Lizzo (Anthony) of Frankfort. Two great grand children, Michael Lizzo and Rose Lizzo of Frankfort. As well as two feline grand children Bruno Nick and Brenda Colleen. Lucy and husband Steve, operated grocery stores in Chicago Heights and Steger during the 1940''s and 50''s thereafter, she worked in the cafeteria of St. James Hospital for 35 years finally retiring at the age of 80.
