Marcia P. Unger

Marcia P. Unger, nee Palmquist, age 80, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Beloved wife of the late John L. Unger. Loving mother of Mark (Catherine) Unger and Jill (James) Miller. Proud grandmother of Caitlin (Michael) Hutton, Emily, Brooke, Riley, Jacob, Samuel, Benjamin, and Lily. Great-grandmother of Addison Grace Hutton. Dear sister of Millicent (Luke) Schowalter, step-sister of the late Alan Noren and his wife Carol (Steven) Johnson and Sharon (Paul) Borror. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Everett and Ruby Palmquist. Marcia was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN with Pastor Steve Miller officiating. Interment Monday, September 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.
