Maria S. Diaz nee Zapata, age 90, of Chicago Heights, IL. passed away on Friday October 2, 2009. Maria is survived by her children Juanita Barrera, Tony (Laura), Jesse (Anna), Arthur (Margie) and Rudy Diaz. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday October 4, 2009 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL.)
