Marie Lannon died peacefully Monday night, March 24, 2014 at her home in South Holland just six days shy of her 84th birthday. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George F. Lannon, and her daughters Linnea Lannon (Richard D. Rattner) Beverly Lannon (Kent Murray, deceased), and Kimberly Vinson, and her grandchildren Elizabeth and Owen Rattner and Mireille Murray. Her son, Thomas, and grandson, Cotton Murray, preceded her in death. She is also survived by her twin sister, Katherine E. Doenges. Marie was born on March 30, 1930, in Chicago, where she graduated from Lindblom High School and went to work at International Harvester Corp., where she met her husband. In addition to raising four children, Marie, who was known for her hard work, great organizational skills and her tireless gardening, helped her husband in his business, volunteered at her childrens' school and at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond, IN, for many years. Visitation will be one hour before a 11:00 a.m. funeral mass to celebrate her life Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church 700 E. 170th St., South Holland, with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, IL.
