Marie "Mary" J. Clausen

Marie J. "Mary" Clausen (nee Stolka) 86, formally of Crete, IL was welcomed into Heaven, in Houston, TX, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born October 12, 1930 in Aurora, OH to Frank J. and Marie (Drsek) Stolka. She married the love of her life, Warren "Happy" Clausen, on November 9, 1952. Marie spent most of her life living and working in Crete, IL. where she raised and supported her 3 children, Mary, Cynthia and Patrick. She worked for 20+ years as the Ladies Locker Room Manager at Lincolnshire Country Club. She relocated to Spring, TX. with her daughter Cindy to spend her golden years in the warm weather. Marie was a devout Catholic and enjoyed attending services at her church, playing Bunco and Bingo. She remained always steadfast in her Faith in the Lord her Savior. Survivors include brother, Eddie Stolka of Waverly, MN, daughter Mary (Robert) Beck of Kalamazoo, MI, son Patrick (Rachael) Clausen of Spring, TX and her four grandchildren, Grace, Andrew, Chris & Sarah. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Cynthia Clausen, grandson, Nathan Beck, and 4 sisters and 3 brothers: Rose, Verna, Annie, Helen, Charles, Frank and James. Memorial Gathering will be held at Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois 60475 Thursday, April 20th, from 5:00 pm until time of Memorial Service 7:00 pm. Interment will be Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Tribute/Memorial donations can also be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
