Marilyn Derks

Marilyn Derks, nee Maas, age 69, went peacefully home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 13, 2026. Beloved wife of Dan Derks. Loving mother of Carla (Chris) Huang, Katie (Tim) Geeve, and Patti (TJ) Slager. Loving grandmother of Alex and Morgan Huang, Aiden Derks, Dani Geeve, Brayden and Camden Slager, late Kaylee Derks, and the late Camryn Slager. Dear sister of Jean (Don) McMillan, Cheryl (Bill) Bunting, Leanne (Chuck) Augustine, and the late Delores (John) Keizer. Marilyn is also survived by many dear brother and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Ted and Aletha Maas. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed attending sports events, orchestra concerts, and anything her grandkids were doing.

Visitation Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. directly at Crown Point Christian Reformed Church 909 E Greenwood Ave Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral service Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Point Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Fred DeJong officiating. Interment at Maplewood Memorial Cemetery – Crown Point, IN. Memorial contributions may be given to Crown Point High School Music Boosters, or Crown Point Cal Ripken Baseball.
