Marilyn Louise Mccune

Marilyn Louise McCune (nee Goetz), 86, of Onalaska, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the home of her son.

She was born in Oak Park, IL, living in Chicago, IL (Mt. Greenwood), Dolton IL, South Holland IL, Streamwood, IL, and Chandler AZ prior to moving to Onalaska for her final six years.  She worked hard at raising her 4 children single handedly as her husband fought his battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 11 years during the prime of their lives.  In addition to raising her children and being a caregiver to her husband, Marilyn was a long-time employee of Jewel Food Stores for many years working as a cashier and at the Customer Service Desk. One of Marilyn’s favorite destinations was Hawaii which she was fortunate to have visited multiple times with her daughters.

She is survived by her son, Rev. James (Kathy) McCune of Onalaska, WI, her daughter, Carol (James) Valenziano of Chandler AZ, her sister Ruth J Andersen of Duluth MN, daughters-in-law Rhonda J. McCune and Marilyn J. McCune, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. McCune, her daughter Susan A. Scheuner, her son Ronald H. McCune, her brother-in-law Alvin Andersen, and her son-in-law Howard Scheuner.

Visitation will be at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162 ^nd Street South Holland, IL 60473, on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 12-1 pm. Memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm .  Private interment.  Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Gundersen Medical Foundation (Hospice) online at gundersenhealth.org/gratitude.
