Mark W. Barnes

Mark W. Barnes, age 80, of Crete, IL and formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2021.  Beloved husband of Carol Barnes, nee Rietveld.   Loving father of Brenda (Nathan) Davis, Melanie (Nick) Aitken, Mark (Deanne) Barnes, Charles Barnes, and Brian (Gina) Barnes.  Loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren with one deceased and six great-grandchildren with one deceased.  Devoted son of Dolly and the late Marcus E. Barnes.  Dear brother of Robert (Alice) Barnes.  Mark was a retired Regional Project Coordinator for I.B.M.  He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Visitation Friday, August 13, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162 ^nd St. (Rt.6/159 ^th St.) South Holland, IL.  Funeral service, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Reformed Church of South Holland, 15924 South Park Ave., South Holland, IL, with Rev. James Oord officiating.  A private burial will be held at Homewood Memorial Gardens in Homewood, IL.  Memorial contributions may be given to Chicagoland Prison Outreach ( http://www.cpoministries.org/ ).
