Martha E. Meeter, nee Dykhuisen, age 93, of Munster, IN, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Sylvester E. Meeter. Loving mother of Edna (late Robert) Standland of NC, Lester (Gloria) Meeter of IN, Nancy (Jerry) Brouwer of MI, and Elaine (Richard) Van Den Berg of MI. Proud grandma of nine; Great-grandma of sixteen. Dearest sister of Grace (late Roy) Stevens, Jerry Van Dyke, late Gilbert and late August Dykhuisen, late Melvin Van Dyke and the late Violet (late Bill) Van Kley. Dear sister-in-law of Raymond (Edna) Meeter, Viola (Peter) De Bok, Lenora Rypma, Gladys (late John) Raymond, the late Jacob (late Ann) Meeter, late Marian (late John) Den Hartog, late Anna Meeter, and the late Peternel (late Tunis) Kooy. Mrs. Meeter was a longtime member of Munster Christian Reformed Church, a gracious host of Airstream International Dignitaries, and traveled extensively throughout the United States, with their Airstream Club. Visitation Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Funeral service Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311 with services conducted by Rev. Herman Schutt and Rev. Jeff Bulthuis. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL.
