Martha Marie Prairie

Martha Marie Prairie, 97, of Momence, died Thursday (March 18, 2010) in Kankakee. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Momence Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Parks will officiate. Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Aroma Township. Mrs. Prairie was a homemaker. She was born April 27, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Nels and Winifred Halverson Johnson. Her husband, Cecil Prairie, died in 1982.Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Audrew Prairie of Momence, David and Judy Prairie of Chebanse; one daughter, Winifred Beebe of Woodstock, Ga.; 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
