Martha M. Scariano, 89, Sauk Village, IL passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 in a Clifton, TX hospital surrounded by family. Martha was born on February 22, 1928 in Terre Haute, IN to Louis and Mary (Edmunds) Chris. She grew up and attended school in Terre Haute and later settled in Sauk Village, IL where she raised her family. Martha worked both as a homemaker and outside the home. She was an excellent ballroom dancer and was once voted “Queen of the Ball.” Martha loved going out to the theater but also enjoyed a night at home watching classic movies. Whether by car, plane or cruise ship, Martha loved to travel. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fashioning her home. After retiring, she spent  time volunteering at a local hospital. But her time with family and friends brought her the most joy. Martha's surviving family includes her daughter Mary Storbeck (Gary) of Whitney, TX and son Donnie (Bonnie) Malley of Portage, IN; seven grandchildren, Jason Storbeck, Annie Garwood, Michael Malley, Jason Novak, Ashley Malley, David Gaskill, and Melissa Gaskill; brother, Dennis Chris; along with numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Christopher Malley. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4th at Smits-Steger Memorial Chapel, Steger, IL. Funeral Service will start at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be Monday, June 5th at 11:30 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery, Terre Haute, IN.
