Martin S Morris Jr.

Martin Morris Jr, age 94, of Crete, IL passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025.  Dearly devoted husband of 63 years to the late Janice G. Morris, nee Polizzotto.  Loving father of Charles (Cathy) Morris, Jon (Lourdes Gomez) Morris, and James Morris.  Cherished grandfather of Megan (Trevor) Miller, Michael Morris, and Annie (Matt) Harmon. Great-grandfather of Everett Harold Miller, Easton Martin Miller, Hannah Harmon, and Jakob Harmon. Preceded in death by his brother Charles Morris. and his parents, Martin Sr, and Elizabeth Morris. Martin was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Marty and Jan married on June 29, 1957 after meeting at Illinois Bell telephone company where they both worked. In 1960, they moved to South Holland where they resided for 18 years where their three sons were raised. Throughout those years every summer a family vacation was taken traveling across the U.S. In 1978, a new house was built in Crete, IL . Marty retired in 1985 from Illinois Bell Telephone Company. After retirement they both traveled extensively, and started enjoying their grandchildren and family. In 1988, a villa was bought in Kissimmee, Florida where six months out of the year they enjoyed playing golf, had annual passes to all the theme parks, took many Caribbean cruises, and made many good friends. We would like to thank Hospice of Calumet and his caregiver Jennifer, who showed compassion, patience, and loving care until the end of his life. Marty proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Preston 795 from 1952 to 1956. Marty will be remembered and missed by all, always.
