Marvin L Devries Sr

Marvin L. DeVries, Sr., age 75, of Dyer, IN formerly of South Holland, IL passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010. Mr. DeVries is survived by his wife of 54 years: Elynore DeVries, nee Maatman; six children: Barbara (David) Hoekstra, Laura (John Jr.) Lagestee, Marvin L. DeVries Jr., Karyn (Doug) Justice, Kevin (Margie) DeVries and Kent (Carol) DeVries; grandchildren: Shari (Phil) Krygsheld, Kelly (Mike) Price, Holly (Nick) Ham, Heather Hoekstra, Stephanie DeYoung, Susan (Pits) Mixavyvanh, Jennifer (Mike) Sluiter, Jessica (Ben) Gaiser, Brandon , Sara, and Samantha Justice, Dylan, Corey, Joah, Carly and Keegan DeVries. And 13 great-grandchildren; one brother: Jack (Pat) DeVries and one sister: Janet (Thomas) Lolkema. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Alice DeVries, and one sister: Ruth Ann Poole. Visitation, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 3 till 8:00 P.M. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St.(Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Funeral Service Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Faith Church. Marv served as elder at the former 1st Christian Reformed Church of Lansing, IL and was a current member of Faith Church, Dyer, IN where he served his Lord in many ways. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all. Memorial Contributions may be given to Lansing Christian School or Illiana Christian High School.
