Matthew T. Mikos

Matthew T. Mikos, age 46, suddenly, of New Lenox, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.  Devoted father of Avalyn and Cian Mikos. Beloved son of Michael and Patricia Mikos.  Dearest brother of Keith Mikos (Jenni Connor) and Kristi Junger (Mikos) (Michael Junger).  Uncle of nieces and nephews (Lily Connor-Mikos, Lincoln Connor-Mikos, Raven Tierney, and Charlotte Junger);  and loved nephew and cousin of many. Preceded in death by his grandparents Walter and Mary Mikos and George and Isabelle Streit.

Matt grew up in Richton Park, attended Eastern Illinois University, and was a member of the Lamda Theta Phi Fraternity.  He was a sheet metal worker with Local Union 73.  Matt played rugby and enjoyed many other sports. He was a committed Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.  Matt was loved by his family, and many friends, and will be truly missed.

Memorial visitation Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a memorial service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home James E. Janusz - Director, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with Pastor Jamie Deuser officiating.
