Melanie Erin Hoch, age 31, of Schererville/Griffith, IN, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013. Melanie was born in Hammond, IN at Saint Margaret Mercy Hospital on June 27, 1981. Daughter of Timothy (Eva) Hoch of Schererville, IN, and her late mother Catherine Hoch; Sister of Brian Hoch (Kathy Haney), Tim Hoch, Phil Hoch, Jaime (Elizabeth) Hoch, Melissa (Michael) Mitchell; Aunt of Michael Mitchell and Morgan Mitchell; Granddaughter of Amy and the late John "Jack" Hoch and Edward and Jane Kubik. Visitation Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311 with Pastor Dale Graza officiating. Interment Oakland Memory Lanes Cemetery - Dolton, IL. Ms. Hoch graduated from Lake Central High School in 2000. Melanie you may be gone from our lives, but you will never be far from our hearts.
