Michael A Halpin

Michael Halpin age 59, of South Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on September 9,2014. Very proud father of his son, Nick. Loving son of the late Jerry and late Betty Halpin. Cherished brother of Barry (Carolyn) Halpin, Cathy (Paul) Pfingston and Rose (Jerry) Capriotti. Beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, including Jennifer (Justin) Martino, Kevin (Katelyn) Pfingston and Barney (Karen) Moton. Preceded in death by his nephew, Danny Halpin. A fun loving great-uncle. Special cousin to Pat, Marie, Charlie and Helen. Mike was a retired police officer, who started his career with the Crete Police Department. He then served 26 years with the Matteson Police Department, some of that service with his very special partner, Bar. Mike was compassionate and loyal to everyone he loved. He lived life to its fullest and brightened all of our lives with his witty, Irish humor. He will be forever missed by his family and friends. Visitation Friday, September 12, 2014 from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, IL. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on September 13, 2014 10:00 a.m. at St. Liborius Church - Steger, Illinois. Interment at Calvary Cemetery - Steger, IL.
