Mildred C Stradley

Mildred Clara Stradley, nee Sharp, age 90, of Matteson, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, March 22, 2013. She was born February 26, 1923 in Corydon, Iowa to the late Basil Ray and Arlowie Marie Sharp. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Dana Stradley whom she united with in marriage on December 30, 1945 in Troy, Kansas. Devoted mother of Connie Marie "Peachie" (Stan) Kowalewski. Proud grandmother of Dana Ray (Pam) Kowalewski and Shawn Marie (Vinnie) Gyllstrom; Great-grandmother of Kyle Vincent Gyllstrom. Dear sister of the late Hazel Marie Ely. Kind aunt of Melva (Mike) Anderson and the late Viroqua Patricia Rouse; Great-aunt of Kelley (Steve) Kroll and Mike R. (Jamie) Anderson Jr., Cherri (Dan) Stephens, Christina (John) Gilbert, and Justin Rouse. Visitation Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 6:30 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL 60475. Interment Corydon Cemetery - Corydon, Iowa. Mildred was a dedicated employee for many years at Verbeeren Ace Hardware in customer service and retired in 1998. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be deeply missed and in our hearts and stay in our hearts forever.
