Mildred V Wands

Mildred Mimi Vitula Wands, age 95, of Munster, IN, formerly of Calumet City, IL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 4, 2010. She was born March 5, 1915 in Sedalia, Missouri to William and Laura Jaekel. On March 25, 1933 she married Joseph Wands who preceded her in death on February 11, 2001. She is survived by three children: Joann (Dennis) OKeefe of Stuart, FL, Richard (Arlene) Wands of Crown Point, IN, and William (Donna) Wands of Dyer, IN. Mimi was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who will miss her very much. Visitation Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 3:00 P.M. until the time of funeral service at 7:00 P.M. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311 with Pastor Duane Keleman officiating. Interment will be private. When Mildred was able, she attended First Baptist Church of Lansing. She was also a member of Lady Garfield Eastern Star. Memorial contributions may be given to the Cancer Resource Center of Munster, IN.
