Minnie Van Kanegan

Minnie Van Kanegan, nee Swets, age 99, of Schererville, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018.  Beloved wife of the late Eugene Van Kanegan. Devoted mother of Gene (Shirley) Van Kanegan and Judy (Ron “Bugs”) Rottier. Proud grandmother of Kevin (Mona) Van Kanegan, Dawn (Gary) Kelch, Lynn Van Kanegan, John (Vik Bisht) Rottier, and Jackie (fiancé Martin Navarro) Rottier; great-grandmother of five. Dear sister of Arie (Yvonne) Swets.  Sister-in-law of Cobie (late Gene) Swets. Kind aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters, and by her parents Walter and Agnes Swets.  Visitation Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Ln. Dyer, IN with Rev. Richard Blauw officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.
