Nicholas “Nick” Beezhold, age 94, of Crete, IL, WW II U.S. Navy Veteran, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020.  Loving husband for 71 years of Kathryn H. Beezhold, nee Schepel.  Devoted father of Kathryn (Jack) Triemstra, Nicholas (Bonnie) Beezhold, Barbara (Ted) Heersink, Ruth (Bob) Lantz, Joel (Linda) Beezhold, and James (Jeanette) Beezhold.  Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  Dear brother of the late Frank (late Nelvina) Beezhold, late Elizabeth (late Jerry) Clifford, late Christine (late Ray) Prince, late Christian (Christine) Beezhold, late Helen (late Barney) Makowski, late William (Harriet) Beezhold, late Dorothy (late Eugene) Wiersum, late Agnes Dupree, and Judy (Joe) Greenwood.

Nick was born and raised in Chicago. After serving in WWII he attended I.I.T. for engineering and had a long career as a design engineer. He raised his family in South Holland and served many years as an elder at Cottage Grove Christian Reformed Church. He and Kay moved to Indiana for retirement and later to Village Woods in Crete, IL. He was a member of Oak Glen URC in Lansing, IL.

A private family funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Ln. Dyer, IN with Rev. Ed Marcusse and Rev. Mark Prestriedge officiating.
