Patrick F. Recupido , age 72, late of Dyer, IN, passed away peacefully Monday, June 3, 2019.  Beloved husband of Karen Recupido, nee Smiles. Devoted father of Shawn Patrick Recupido and Daniel James Recupido. Dearest brother of Mary (Steve) Hough, Ellen Recupido, John Recupido, Francine (Jeff) Buchhalter, and the late Anne Recupido. Brother-in-law of Joanna (Dennis) Holstein.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Eleanore Recupido.

Visitation Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Visitation also on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at noon at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL. Patrick was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran and a retired switchman for Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad. He grew up in Riverdale, IL and was a graduate of Queen of Apostles School, Mendel High School and Northern Illinois University. Patrick was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, and collector of sports memorabilia, coins, and bobble-heads.  Special thank you to Dr. M. Kassar and NW Oncology Group.
