Paul Edward Cook

Paul E. Cook , age 85, of South Holland, IL, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2019. Loving husband of Barbara Cook, nee Marquardt. Devoted father of Glenn Cook, Scott (Ann) Cook and the late Jeffrey Paul Cook. Proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dear brother of Herbert (Carol Struve) Cook and the late Richard Cook. Kind uncle to several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Howard P. and Elizabeth Louise Cook. Visitation Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church , 8955 Columbia Ave. Munster, IN. Interment private.

Paul was a Cub Master, Boy Scout Master, Troop Chairman of Troop 369, and an Eagle Scout. He was also involved in South Holland Little League, serving as a coach, manager and umpire. He was an Outstanding Chairman of IL and U.S. Jaycee’s.  He served on the South Holland Planning Commission and served as it’s chairman for many years. Paul was an Elder, Deacon and Chairman of the Worship Committee for his church, United Presbyterian Church of South Holland. Currently, he worships at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Munster, IN. Paul sang with several groups including the Singing Men of Steel, United Presbyterian Church Choir, Knights of Harmony Barbershop Society, and South Holland Master Chorale. Paul began the Thornton Canasta Club and also was a member of the South Holland Presbyterian Church Card Club and the Thornton Recreation Card Club.  He loved gardening and belonged to the South Holland Garden Club. Paul was a United States Army Veteran. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
