Pearl L. Shaffner, nee Shipman of Steger formerly of Country Club Hills, IL, age 93, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013. Loving Mother of Robert (Diane) Shaffner, Carol Marshall and the late Lois Andrade. Cherished grandmother of five; great-grandmother of four; and great-great grandmother of three. Dear sister of the late Robert, late Raleigh, late Rosemary, and the late Frank Shipman. Dear special friend of Lois Peterson. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorial service Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smits Funeral Home-Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, IL 60475. Interment Cedar Park Cemetery - Cedar Park, IL. Mrs. Shaffner was the long time City Clerk for Country Club Hills, IL, former President of the South Suburban Hospital Auxiliary, Municipal Clerks Association, and Charter member of the United Christian Church of Country Club Hills. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
