Perry S. Brown Jr.

P erry S. Brown Jr., age 37, of Joliet, IL formerly of Crete, IL, passed away suddenly on May 25, 2021.  Perry is survived by his two children, Connor and Meara Brown; two sisters, Heather Gutierrez and Heidi Brown; three nephews,  four nieces, and several uncles and aunts. Preceded in death by his parents Perry and Barbara Brown Sr.  Perry was a devoted father to his two children, an avid fisherman, weightlifter, golfer, and loved his Chicago sports teams, especially the Chicago Bears.  He was an all-conference middle linebacker for Crete Monee High School, where he graduated in 2002.  He also went on to get his Bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University.  Nowhere did he feel more at peace than on the water, as he spent well over a decade in the dredging industry, working for both Great Lakes Dredge & Dock and Weeks Marine.  All who came in to contact with Perry quickly gravitated towards him for the beautiful light he exuded.  He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Friday, June 4, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Ln. (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN.  Interment Skyline Memorial Park – Monee, IL.
