Peter Jacobs, age 88, of South Holland, IL passed away Friday, September 6, 2013. Beloved husband of Jennie (nee Blaauw); loving father of Dennis, James (Sandra), the late Robert, and Marvin (Antonette "Toni") Jacobs. Dear grandfather of Robert (Cathy Anderson), Kevin (Jill), Amy (Brian) Jellema, Morgan, and Lauren. Great-grandfather of 8 and preceded in death by 1 great-grandchild. Brother of the late Adrianna (late William) VanderHeyden, late Julius (late Lena) Jacobs, late Christine (late Gerrit) Norman, Maggie (John) Kuiper, and the late Augustus (Ruth) Jacobs. Brother-in-law of Martha Blaauw. Visitation Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Funeral Service Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church (16248 South Park Ave., South Holland, IL) with services conducted by Rev. Ben Tol. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. Mr. Jacobs was a W.W. II Army Veteran and was a long time member of Men of A-Chord.
