Phillip R. Fowlie, of Lowell, IN formerly of South Chicago Heights, IL passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014. Beloved husband of Patricia Fowlie (nee DeLorenzo.) Loving father of Phillip A. Fowlie, Phyllis (William) Slesser, Pamela (Mark) Slavis, and Paul (Jennifer) Fowlie. Caring grandfather of Matthew, Haley, Mallory, Nick, Ethan, Noah, Jasmine, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, and Meghan. Fond brother of Alice (late Jim) Schmieding and Ardena (late Robert) Riss. Visitation Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 3:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lanes (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. Funeral service Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens - Schererville, IN. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Kidney Foundation. Mr. Fowlie was an employee of the Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights for over forty years. He was also a member of the Army Reserves, a volunteer for the South Chicago Heights Fire Department for 19 years, and a retiree member of UAW # 588.
