Phyllis Rickman, age 95, of Crete, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2023. Beloved wife of 75 years of the late Clarence Fred Rickman. Loving mother of Gary (Suzanne) Rickman, Dean (Jan) Rickman, and Neil Rickman. Cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren (Katie, Ben, Jenny, Becca, and Bonnie), and great-grandmother of 8 great-grandchildren. Phyllis was raised in Roseland and, in the late 1950s, moved to Dolton. She attended and was an active member of Immanuel Bethel UCC in Dolton. For a while she acted as church secretary and, with the help of her good friend Marilyn Vankat, established one of Dolton's first kindergarten schools. She was a solid White Sox fan and often visited spring training in Sarasota and Arizona to get autographs and watch the games. Her dad, Elmer, introduced her to the White Sox and she was thrilled when her team finally won the World Series 2005. She was employed at Mi-Jack in Hazel Crest for over 25 years, retiring from the human resources department at the young age of 87. Phyllis will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
