Ramona Jeanette Messex-Borre

Ramona Jeanette Messex-Borre, nee Kadinger, age 86, of Steger, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Beloved wife of Wayne Borre for 13 years. Loving mother of Loretta Carson, Linda (Dannie) Powell, Patrick (Mary) Messex, Barbara (Edward) Dionne, late Jeannette (Michael) Fitzsimmons and widow of her 34 year marriage to Gerald Messex. Dear grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of many. Cherished sister of Josephene Keenlyne, Betty Sabelko, and Dianne Gullickson. Preceded in death by siblings Gloria Hince, Rosanne Herum, Alex (Bud) Kadinger Jr., Paul Kadinger, and parents Alex Kadigner and Bessie Hite.  She was an active parishioner at St. Liborius Catholic Church for over 50 years. She and Gerald initiated the Saturday morning rosary and helped with RCIA.  She enjoyed being around people, many needle craft projects, and taking photos.  Ramona will be dearly missed by all who knew her, enjoyed her playful wit and loved her.

Visitation to be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, IL, 60475. Funeral Mass Friday, March 3, 2023, 10:00 am at St. Liborius Catholic Church, 71 W 35th St, Steger, IL 60475. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Steger, IL.
