Beloved husband of the late Tena Bruinsma; loving father of Jim (Kathy) Bruinsma, Lois (Jim) Rau, Jerry (the late Martha) Bruinsma, Karen Bruinsma, and the late Raymond Bruinsma Jr.; dear grandfather of 7; great-grandfather of 27; great-great-grandfather of 4; Dear brother of Irene Dekker, the late Edward Bruinsma, the late Wilbur Bruinsma, and the late Lewis Bruinsma. Visitation Friday, April 26, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Smits Funeral Homes (2121 Pleasant Spring Ln. Dyer, IN 46311)  Funeral Service, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Protestant Reformed Church of Crete (1777 E. Richton Rd. Crete, IL 60417). Service conducted by Rev. Kenneth Koole. Private burial conducted by Rev. Carl Haak at Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Protestant Reformed Christian Church of Crete.
