Raymond J. Deabel, age 70, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully April 6, 2015. Beloved husband of Eveline Deabel nee Matthies. Loving father of Lara Aprati, Sandra (Barry) Purnell, Joshua (Lisa) Deabel, Nathan (Tami) Deabel, Adam Deabel, and Linda (Jerry) Ringl. Cherished grandfather of Tess, Skylar, Annalee, Cooper, Noah, Kendelle, Sophia and great grandfather of Maddox. Dear brother of Al (Mary Ann) Deabel and the late Beatrice (late Thomas) Murphy. Ray was a Chaplain at St. James hospital for over 20 years and an ordained deacon in the Archdiocese of Chicago for 35 years. Visitation Friday, April 17, 2015 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.)Dyer, Indiana 46311, with a prayer service 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. Visitation Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Kieran Catholic Church 724 195th St, Chicago Heights, IL 60411.
