Renee` M. Casto

Renee` M. Casto, nee Del Castillo, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, December 25, 2018 on her favorite day, Christmas, at the age of 74. She was a resident of Schererville, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL. She is the late daughter of Stanley Mazurski and Irene (Fabisiak) Del Castillo. Loving mother of four children and survived by daughter Corrine (Jim) Coventry grandchild Sophia, Son Frank Jr.  (Rae); grandchildren Katie Hamlin, Jonathan and Gillian, Daughter Anna (Keith) Kamys, and Son Anthony. Dear sister of Natalie Jean (Edward) Kaluza, Sr., Victoria (Don) Anderson and brother Stanley (Doris) Mazurski Sr. Kind Aunt and Great Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

She had a passion for baking, which led her to be a professional cake decorator for over 45 years. She loved to help others through several organizations, such as Muscular Dystrophy and the Ronald McDonald House. She loved to get involved with community activities such as organizing local blood drives, Holy Ghost Church fundraisers, and she was an ardent supporter of Girls Scouts. She also frequently served as an election judge.

Memorial visitation Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN.
