Richard "Chic" Alfred Ciancanelli

Richard “Chic” Ciancanelli, age 72, of South Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Beloved husband of the late Darline Ciancanelli. Loving father of Dawn (John Vidimos) Heldt, Michelle (Lenny) Skrezyna, and John (Jeanie) Davis. Cherished grandfather of Ricky Heldt Jr., Christina (Mike) Wilson, Ryan (Sammi) LoBue, Tiffany (Eddie) Castillo, Alex Davis, Payton Skrezyna, Joshua Davis, and Madison Davis. Loving great-grandfather of Alana, Bailey, Edward, Finley, Sutton, Easton, Kaia, and Amelia. Brother of Judy (Bill) Blanchard. Fond cousin of Pauline, Tom, Margie, Paulie and Tony. Preceded in death by his loving parents Alfred and Sarah Ciancanelli and his son-in-law Ricky Heldt Sr.

Chic was a Steger basketball coach as well as a little league baseball coach for many years. He retired from K-5 Construction after many years of service. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation to be held Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, Illinois 60475.
